Los Navales Verdejo 2005

Produced from second run pure Verdejo this wine normally is a blend of Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc but not 2004. This is a wine that classically expresses the style and character of this grape variety in this region. Fresh, mouthwatering exotic fruit (pineapple, ripe fruits, grapefruit) with blancing crispness. Excellent as an aperitif or with selected entrees and especially shellfish.

Vinedos de Nieva

Vinedos de Nieva was founded on the 28 of December of 1989 for the purpose of cultivating vineyards. The estate is in Nieva (Segovia) within the Rueda D.O., and is located at more than 850 ms of altitude it is the most western territory of the denomination of origin, operating 55 hectares of vineyards. The region of Rueda is the typical and most significant region of white wines of Castilla and Leon. The vineyards are, predominantly, of the Verdejo variety, native to the region. Sauvignon Blanc, Viura and the fine Palomino complement the cultivated varieties. Nieva has centuries of history of viticulture and winemaking, achieving its greatest heights with the Hieronymite monks who disappeared with the confiscation of the land in the last century. This wine is a real rarity. Made from 100% Verdejo, the vineyards date back to the prefiloxera era, so are over 100 years of age. The capriciousness of nature has meant that Vines de Nieva alone can market this wine, which explains its great scarcity. The resultant wine is bright with a powerful aroma, full long fresh and elegant. The flavour is fruity (white flowers, fresh fruit and green apples) and has a hint of minerals and anis.
