Wine; vintage: 2007; ABV: 14.5%;A dry red blend of 50% Merlot 30% Pinotage and 20% Shiraz. Beautiful ripe blackberried fruits with smokey roasted aromas and well intergrated juicy tannins. Two years in bottle has brought the wine forward and it is drinking extremely well and will continue to do so until at least 2012. A great partner with red meats and game. Perfect with BBQ.

Cederberg Wines
Cederberg wines are produced by South Africa`s most uniquely situated wine farm boasting the Cape`s highest lying vineyards. The farm is situated in the Cederberg Wilderness Area, and falls within the Cape ``fynbos``region - one of the worlds` six floral kingdoms.
The cellar has leaped into prominence on the South African wine scene with an impressive repertoire of awards, including the coveted Veritas Double Gold medal - South Africs`s top wine accolade.
The Nieuwoudt family`s connection with the Cederberg dates back to 1893. Since then there have been five generations of Nieuwoudts on the farm.Appropriately, the family name means `New Wood`. Far from the softer, settled scenes of the estates closer to Cape Town, the Nieuwoudts were pioneers, farming tobacco and fruit in this rocky, high-altitude terrain,
before discovering that it provided the ideal terroir for wines of distinction.

Cederberg Methode Cap Classico Sparkling Brut
This is the maiden vintage of the long awaited Cederberg Blanc de Blancs MCC made by the traditional French champagne method. The wine was partially fermented in top quality selected French oak casks, finishing the first fermentation in steel tanks. The still wine was bottled, adding a mesured 'dosage' of sugar to ferment in bottle to create fine bubbles. The wine is then left in the bottle on the lees for 4 yrs. This brings to the fore a yeasty, biscuit like aroma supported by fresh hints of citrus. These citrus aromas, in particular zesty lime, are derived from using 100% Chardonnay.
