Palliser Estates

Vineyards

Palliser currently has approximately 85 hectares under vine - varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris. These are grown on their various vineyards - Palliser, Pencarrow, Om Santi, Pinnacles and Clouston, which are all on the renowned Martinborough Terrace. Over this relatively small area, there are great differences in soil types and climate which all help to add complexity to the wines.

Winery

The original winery was built in time for the 1991 vintage, and as the company and vineyards grew it became neccessary to expand. The size of the winery doubled in 2002 and is now able to process 600 tonnes of fruit.

A new purpose built barrel hall was constructed in 1999. This is built from thermomass concrete and is temperature controlled in order to minimise losses from evaporation.
